in 2018-09, I started to think about what should I do with the front door, it was getting old, ugly. But weather as getting worse. Finally on 2019-06, I started to looking solutions, either install a new one, or fix it up. To the end, I decided to change the glass windows of the top, also replace the brick molding. But after those needed parts in place, we realized the door frame and footer must be replaced as well (due to the conditions deteriorating very badly). To the end, the front door was professionally installed, painted, total fix-up, even my contractor friend also had no extensive experiences on front door installation, and cost is much higher than what I expected.
Disclaimer: I participated the planning, sourcing, and also whole process of replacement installation, but the major work were down by my contractor friend. The is not one one’s job anyway.
What I have learnt from this project: Have a proper /fair assessment ahead of each project is very important. It requires knowledge, experience.
